8. BILLY KNOWS A SECRET
|BY JAMES MINTER|
|ABOUT THE BOOK|
Keeping secrets is not easy, even though, at times, it seems like the right thing to do.
Ant and Billy were somewhere where they should not have been and saw something that they should not have seen. They do not want to get into trouble but by not telling anyone the wrong person is accused.
Sometimes it is hard to know what to do but things need to be put right.
If something has to be kept a secret, there must be a reason. It is usually to protect yourself of someone else. This story explores the issues of secret-keeping by Billy and Ant, and the consequences that arise. For children, the importance of finding a responsible adult with whom they can confide n and share their concerns is a significant life lesson.
